Nougat fudge – fat bombs

August 20, 2016 by Jane Faerber Leave a Comment

Nougat fudge - or nougat fat bombs. Ultra low carb and ultra high fat. These are perfect for people eating a strict low carb diet / LCHF / keto. Easy recipe - only 4 ingredients here:

I think nougat fudge sounds so much better than nougat fat bombs. Don’t you? The idea of eating a fat bomb is just a bit repulsive. Eating nougat fudge on the other hand is something I can easily see myself doing! Yes, semanics, I know. But it matters!

Well, nougat is generally very popular around my house. When December comes, we all enjoy my homemade nougat – we call it death by nougat because it’s so good and almost impossible to stop eating once you start.

This nougat fudge is a bit different. It’s much less sweet and very low carb (less than 0,5 grams of carb per piece) and since the fat content is so high, they are very fulfilling. And quite hard to overeat actually – and if you do try, prepare for some serious nausea.

MAKES 10 PIECES

  • 50 g of coconut oil
  • 50 of hazelnut butter
  • 1 tablespoon of high quality cacao powder
  • 4-5 drops of stevia (or sweetener of your choice)

DIRECTIONS

1. In a small sauce pan, melt coconut oil and hazelnut butter at low heat. Use only the hard part of the hazelnut butter and leave the hazelnut oil for later use.

2. Add cacao powder and stevia and combine well.

3. Pour the nougat mixture into small chocolate molds and put in the fridge or in the freezer. Eat directly from the fridge or freezer as they tend to become quite “runny”.
