LCHF shopping list

I’ve put together a list of my most frequently bought items when I go grocery shopping. I don’t necessaily buy them all every time but they are all part of my everyday cooking.

I buy organic whenever possible.

BASICS

Eggs
Butter – real butter
Heavy cream
Sour cream
Greek yoghurt 10%
Various cheeses (brie, cheddar, parmesan, just to name a few)
Cottage cheese
Deli cuts (ham, sausauge)
Bacon (no explanation needed!)
Vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, bell peppers, cucumber, fennel, haricots verts, asparagus, onions etc.)
Avocados
Fresh herbs (basil, parsley, coriander, thyme, rosemary etc.)
Lemon (always organic so I can use the zest)
Meat (beef, chicken, pork, lamb etc.)
Fish (often salmon, cod, mullet etc)
Canned tuna and macquerel
Nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts etc.)
Seeds (sunflower, sesame, linseed, chia seeds)
Berries – frozen if they’re not in season
Canned or bottled tomatoes
Coconut milk
Dessicated coconut
Extra Virgin olive oil
Mayonnaise (I look for one with rapeseed oil rather than sunflower oil or “vegetable oil”)
Dark chocolate 85%

DE LUXE PRODUCTS
I also shop in my local health store or online for some of the special types of flours or sugar replacement products I use. It’s important for me to stress that these products are NOT necessary for following a LCHF lifestyle. LCHF is first and foremost vegetables, meat and healthy fats. They are, however, convenient if you want to try the grainfree bread recipes or you want to make cakes or desserts.

Virgin coconut oil
Coconut oil (odour free)
Psyllium husks
Almond flour
Almond flour
Coconut flour (fibres)
Coconut palm sugar
Pofiber (potato fibres)
Erythritol (sugar alcohol that’s not absorbed in the body)
Yacon sirup
Raw cacao powder
Liquorice powder
Nut butters (almond butter, cashew butter, hazelnut butter are a few favorites)

Cod Liver Oil or Omega 3 oil from Nordic Naturals
