Mission Statement

MyCopenhagenKichen - Mission Statement

As you may (or may not) know, blogging and writing cookbooks is my job. I run my own little company doing that and I have been for almost 4 years now.

I enjoy working by myself but the other day, I found myself dreaming of one day hiring people to help me spread my message. So I sat down and wrote my Mission Statement. This is what I want to change in the world. This is what my little company works for.

FOOD & HEALTH

✔ On this blog, I would like to inspire women and men to eat less sugar and less food-like-products. I will do so by showing the way to a sugar-free or sugar-limited lifestyle with lots of beautiful and healthy food.

✔ I would love to inspire you to bury the idea that fat is dangerous or fattening and I will always try to inspire you to leave the light products and fat free products be and go for the full fat products instead. The more we chose the full fat products in the stores, the more full fat products will make it to the stores. We decide!

✔ I would love to inspire you to eat more vegetables. I’ll do that by preparing beautiful green dishes but also by giving inspiration to ways to replace some of all the starchy food (pasta, bread, rice, potatoes) with more vegetables.

✔ I would like to inspire you to eat according to the season. In my country, that means that we eat cabbage and root vegetables in the winter and that we save the asparagus and the fresh berries for summer. When we eat according to the season, we get better taste but we also do the environment a favor by not eating food that have been transported from the other side of the globe.

✔ I would love to inspire you to choose real food of good quality and also to choose organic produce or free range whenever you can. I understand that these high standards may not be possible in all stages of life but it doesn’t hurt to keep them in mind.

BODY & WEIGHT

✔ I would love to participate in spreading the message that weight loss does not equal hunger, deprivation and misery. Instead I would love to inspire women to lose weight by eating real food. That automatically leads us to a good bye to the 1200 kcal diets and also to the idea that we must lose 10 kilos in 10 weeks to be succesfull. I will always recommend losing weight slow and steady rather than going on some extreme crash diet in order to lose some weight fast (and then gain it all back).

✔ I would love to inspire – especially women – to let go of the academic-mathematical approach to food. Stop counting calories, carbs or whatever you’re counting! Instead I’d love to convince women that their body is much, much smarter than any calculator on the internet.

✔ I would also love to inspire – especially women – not to judge themselves so hard by every little choice they make. Instead I propose that you lift yourself up and look at your health from a helicopter perspective. Your overall health or your weight are not affected by what you do sometimes, What matters is what you do every day.

VALUES

✔ Everybody is welcome here, no matter what diet or health path you follow. My food is sugar-free, gluten-free and grain-free and lands somewhere in the area of LCHF and paleo but I literally don’t care if you chose to eat bread or potatoes or sugar. Not my business.

✔ I want to ensure that I spread a good tone and a positive spirit from this blog. That means that I won’t use my posts to trash other people and their points of view or in other ways try to make myself bigger by putting someone else down. And those standards go for you too. As long as you’re on my blog, I expect you to talk nicely to me and to other readers.
